Dr. David M. Yates

Dr. Burke was born in Pocatello, Idaho. He is a Gulf War veteran, who served in the US Navy aboard the USS Long Beach, CGN-9. After his military service, he attended Idaho State University where he graduated with his Bachelor's Degree. His Doctorate of Dental Medicine was awarded in 2005 at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Burke then received his Medical Degree and General Surgery certificate from the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. Dr. Burke completed his six-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Louisiana State University, New Or
leans where he was trained in full-scope Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. After graduation, he made El Paso his home and formed West Texas Maxillofacial Surgery. He has published two book chapters and enjoys incorporating technology into surgery. Dr. Burke is a board member of the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is an Alternate Delegate for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Locally, Dr. Burke is the Department of Surgery Chairman for Del Sol Hospital. He is the First Vice President of the El Paso District Dental Society.

In addition to tooth extraction and dental implant treatment, Dr. Burke enjoys full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His clinical focus is Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery, Orthognathic (jaw moving) Surgery, Facial Trauma, Facial Reconstruction, and adult and pediatric Benign Pathology Treatment. Dr. Burke also provides conservative and surgical treatment for Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders.

In October 2016, Dr. Burke will be the first Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in this region to be recognized as a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons.

 

Recreationally, he spends his time hunting, fishing, and enjoying time with his wife, three sons and two daughters.
